A Kawa Update...

She is growing up so fast!  We are loving having her in our family.  Her quirky personality, that boxers each to their own have, is forming more and more each day.

Andy took these pictures of her the other morning.

See...we are loving having her here, if I can say so, I think she's loving it too!

Harry's First Communion!

This celebration has been a long time coming.  He has been studying hard all year long, & enjoying every bit of it.  We all have learned more, and as a family are so very proud of him!

Andy quick, snapped these before we left, as I ran around the house making sure we had everything, camera's, video camera, tissues....
Right as we were about to leave, Harry yelled from the truck "Don't forget my fedora!". My brain was all over the place, so it took me a few seconds, "fedora?".......Ohhh, fedora, your hat.  :)

 Waiting, saving seats...

There he is!!  Boy oh boy did the girls, er Mama's, go ALL out! a whole lot of the dresses were made from their wedding gowns, the girls compaired their sparkles, jewelry, veils...the boys, well, they just waited until it was time to go into church.
Kids were so happy to have their cousin at their church, along with their Aunt & Uncle, Grandma & Grandpa, and Mema & Papa!

 HIiii my darling!!

Look how old our baby looks!  I have a feeling I will be saying that my whole life! (front row, second from the left.  Just waiting for everyone to be placed to have their group photo taken)

Father Bill on the left and Father Mike on his right.
They sure are blessed at what they do. Fr.Bill used to be an elem.principal, and sure is funny, makes you feel right at home.  Fr.Mike was an elem. teacher, he too made/makes everyone feel welcome.

This was a celebration at school.  Their school encompasses 5-6 different churches, so this they make Thursday Mass a special one for them. (they changed back into school uniform after this...much to the comfort of the Moms, especially the ones of daughters!)

Harry & his friend Samuel

Harry & his friend Jack.

Can't believe it!  Only a week and a half left of school.  Seems like after Christmas the year zooms by!  Along with that the last few weeks are jam packed with fun activities for the kids...making the days go by that much faster!

(sure can tell when Andy posts & when I do! His, short & sweet, mine, just can't decide which photos should stay and which should go)       :)

Introducing.......

Kawa Ann Lewis
Born: 2.3.2012

Meet Kawa, pronounced Kava.  It is Polish for coffee. Anyone who knows boxers, knows that coffee is an appropriate name for her. Me, I am 100% Polish and darn proud of it.  Although I am so proud, with a last name of Lewis, it is kind of hard to incorporates a multi-consonant Polish name for the kids.  So, I reserve the right to name our animals something Polish.  :)

We picked her up two weeks ago and has brought such sunshine to our house and hearts.  We were not going to get a puppy so soon, but an opportunity presented itself to us that we could not turn down.  In reflection, she is exactly what we needed.  I have been taking her everywhere...I mean EVERYWHERE.
My goal is to train her to be CGC.  Which stands for a Certified Good Citizen.  What that really means is that I would be authorized to take her into nursing homes to cheer up and hopefully add some laughs and calming smiles to people.

The photos above are her first on our front lawn (the moment we brought her home).  She seems to have found a way to get out of my reach to photograph....cutie.

Mom on the left (Bently), Dad on the right (Hunter)
The ladies we got her from were amazing.  Helpful, kind, understanding, got teary with us talking about our beloved boxers we have had in our lives.  They had us not only meet Kawa's mom & dad, but all the rest of their boxers.  They were all SO well behaved.  To put big cherry on top, they have a full size Macaw named Mock and the best part for me (aside of course from the fantastic boxers...), a Percheron Draft horse, My Favorite!!

One of Andy's favorite moments, in boxer heaven.
He was missing Mieszko so very much, this is exactly what he needed.

We all have had so many good naps and snuggle time with her.

Nina's turn...

 Harry's....

Now Daddy, these are too funny!  Watching her first Tigers game, tuckered her right out.  She does actually watch T.V. and the computer.

We still miss Mieszko deeply, but Kawa has brought new life into this house, new idea's for adventures are coming up all the time.  We thought Mieszko was the biggest snuggler, he has been challenged, she is too sweet, loves to be as close as she can to us.  She bring back so many wonderful memories of Mieszko when he was a puppy, we feel more like we are honoring his memory, not replacing him.
