Teddy Bear Picnic

I was not sure if we would make it to the picnic or not....I could not find "Teddy Lewis" (the teddy bear that I knitted for Harry) anywhere! Still can't find him. Harry ended up being okay with it for the time being. I showed him a few other bears that he had and explained where they came from. He chose Paddington, b/c he came from Uncle Jeffie (he sent him over in a care package from a trip to England). He wanted to know why he had the coat & hat on, I said where he lives it rains a lot. So when we got to the picnic at the library he proceeded to tell everyone that "This is Paddy, my Uncle Jeffie got him for me, he has this coat and hat on b/c it rains a lot where he lives" They were all moms there and they were good sports in listening to his stories (wonder where he gets it from?!). And of course, Amelia, she was fine with any of her 5 Care Bears. They had a great time. They heard 2 stories, sang a few songs, were in a Teddy Bear parade (the highlight) and had a snack & juice to top it all off. They really had a good time.
The parade...

When I first saw this, I thought Harry had a cute look on his face...then I looked at it again...who is that little-big boy in the picture, where did my baby boy go?!
You think that she is his shadow?! :)

Random pictures...

It had rained earlier in the day. I brought the kids out when it had stopped, to play and these gorgeous rain drops were on the leaves of the hostas.

We did the Crop walk Sunday afternoon. Harry & Amelia were not too crazy about the event. It was a busy weekend of running around. Amelia was close to sleeping the whole time (it was her nap time), and Harry was just along for the ride.

What a cutie...Harry said to Nina..."I can give you a ride in my car!" So they tried and tried, and as Harry would say "It didn't go so well". She really enjoyed herself.
I think they made it a couple feet. Harry was frustrated that he couldn't get his feet to the peddles to make them "go fast". I told him was better if they went slow anyway. :)
We had lunch at the counter on Saturday and out of nowhere Amelia put her arms straight up with her fists tight and said "HOLD ON!!!". She kept doing it over and over...Maybe she was telling us what our family motto is :)
...about to put her arms up again...
..and there she goes, "hold on!"...
I'm not sure what he was doing either.
They love sweeping together. Well, they both like to sweep. Amelia went to the end of the driveway to sweep, and apparently that was her spot! Harry came shortly there after and she was SO mad at him and yelled and yelled at him...it was her spot! I should get this on tape to show them later on in life..."see you LOVE to sweep!" :)
Oops...this one got out of order...still trying to give Nina a ride.
I walked into the room and Nina was sitting on Harry's back. They were watching a cartoon together. She looked so funny, she kept going through his hair with her fingers, she looked like a little monkey cleaning his hair. It is so nice when they get a long.

Our first "organized" sporting event....

Harry started T-ball last night. It was an "organized" mess. There were about 40-50 kids running around. It is an instructional league. At Harry's age that 's what all the sports are, instructional. Watching all the kids running around was priceless! My favorite quote of Andy's was "Harry put the flower down and catch the ball!" :) There were dandelion's all over some with white head, so he wanted to blow them away...and that was pretty much how all of the kids were. (I forgot my camera in the frenzy of trying to get out the door, so the pics are from when we got home, we do have video of the field, maybe I have one short enough to put up) Amelia did not take the event so well. She screamed the whole time. Her buddy was out there running around doing things without her (she is definitely his shadow). I don't know if it is thankfully, but thankfully there were other siblings that had the same issue with not being involved. We will have to have a different plan of attack next week. Harry had a blast and afterwords we went for an ice cream cone, a good way to end the day.His shirt is enormous. I am hoping that it will shrink a little in the wash...well a lot, but I will settle for a little.
This about captures the first night at T-ball.

Great one of Amelia. This shows so much about her...dolly, glove and one shoe. She kept saying at the field, "Mama!! I want to play with the boys!!" I was exhausted at the end of the night just listening to her scream...she slept well last night. Hard work being the little sister.

Nature...

Yesterday was one of those days that I chose to let the kids make a huge mess for a little sanity. :) We have this bucket of dirt from Mema & Papa's. They had quite a bit in their garden and we needed some extra to plant a tree. We have one bucket left over and the kids have been eyeing it up for days now. So I let them play in it. They had a great time digging and finding worms. I think Amelia enjoyed that more than Harry! They played with that dirt for probably a good hour...but I did pay for it. They were a HUGE mess! At the end the playing was more outside the bucket, in their hair, down Harry's shirt, in the back of their play cars...what a mess. So I put them in the tub...both of them were amazed at all the dirt that came off of them. It is amazing how much worse dirt is to get off of them and out of their hair then sand....but, they did had a really good time.
