I took some pictures of Amelia for her birthday at the beach. The day was not that good, a big storm was rolling in so the sky was not the best, but there still were quite a few cute pictures.

You can see how calm the water was, this was about 20 minutes before it started raining. It was really neat, you could see it raining just down the shore and you could hear it, it sounded like a dull white noise.

I love how cute Harry looks going to school. This morning he had had enough of the pictures :)
We went to a farm to pick pumpkins. They had all sorts of things to do for the family. You take a hay ride out to the u-pick areas, right now for apples and pumpkins. This area was a pond where you could fish. I am trying to bait the hook with corn that they gave us.

So the pumpkin patch was not the highlight of their trip, which they were originally so excited about...the hay ride was. In pretty much every picture you can see the look of concern on their faces watching a tractor go by. The hayride would drop you off and keep going to the next area to see if anyone was ready to go to the next patch (the pumpkin patch alone was 10 acres), or if they were done. Harry and Amelia were so concerned about getting back on the tractor, that is all they did.

Amelia laid out on a bunch of pumpkins, she thought it was quite funny.

Ahhh....back on the hayride.

Our little explorer. Harry was very proud of the binoculars that he made at Preschool.

Nina putting daddy's shoes on. She likes to walk around in them, well falling around in them would probably be more like it.
Ahhh, almost a snuggle there Mieszko & Tomasina!

Leader Day

Today was Harry's first "leader day". He gets to bring the snacks, bring something from home for show and tell, and he gets to be the leader "ALLLL Day" (as Harry would say).
Our little guy is too funny. Last night we were talking about what he wanted to bring in for show and tell. He wanted to bring his favorite tractor. He was talking about his tractor the rest of the night. At bedtime, He had it with him and I told him that he needed to tell the tractor that it was okay, that the other kids are going to want to play with him and to not be scared, and to tell the tractor all about your classroom b/c he has never been there so he may be a little scared about that too. ( I was trying to prepare him for letting the other kids play with his tractor, which he really doesn't even like his sister playing with it much less all the kids in his class). Well our little smarty pants decided that he wanted to take his monkey to class instead. This monkey he has had since he was born, and has never even looked twice at it. All of a sudden he wants to bring it in to show and tell. He picked something that he didn't really care about, so it was okay if the other children wanted to play with it. Little cutie.

We had some friends of ours from Grand Rapids visit this weekend. We all had a great time, especially the kids! The weather was perfect, we had lunch at the beach, and then dinner at our house.

Harry about to jump behind Matthew.
Amelia with the boys.

Andy and Ryan with the kids.
Daddy's and their girls.

Lou and their daughter Kate.
There was a big ship coming in while we were at the beach. Harry loved that.

Airplane!

This of course I think was the most fun that the boys had. Running around with a box on their head. I just loved their laughter.

Amelia loved having everyone in her room.

Just some pictures that I took by the lake. It was a beautiful cool day, and Harry & Nina wanted to play in the sand.
