For all you moms out there...
Just a little funny...I think that I am finally on the last leg of my bronchitis that I have been fighting for a few weeks now. During the last week I made a fort at first for Harry, then Amelia really took to it. I made it so during Nina's naptime, Harry would have someplace to go and have "quite time"...and I could get some rest. Well I built it a little better than I thought. It has been up for a good week, and FINALLY today, I took it down! It had become a collection of toys and general stuff. Don't get me wrong, It's great for the kids to have their toys out and play everywhere, but.... Ahhh...We have our living room back! :) I know, it doesn't take much for me to get excited!
Come on Spring....Come on!!!
We spent yesterday outside. It ended up being very productive day. It started out with us just playing around. Before we knew it I was cleaning up the leaves around all of the plants, and Andy was out back doing the same. It was quite chilly, but it sure was great spending the day outside cleaning up. We can't wait to start planting!
Daddy & Harry had some fun catching some balls from the kids t-ball pitching machine. I don't know who had a better time!
These pictures are a bit blurry, but too cute. The kids had gotten cold, so they went inside while daddy & mama finished cleaning up outside...Amelia kept flashing her cute smile at us, I couldn't resist, I had to capture it!
Craft time. You can see by Harry's arm a car. That was the first project, daddy put the model car together with Harry & Amelia. Then we made some sun catchers. I loved this project, Daddy was having a good time until Harry was trying to help and moved the catcher and all the little plastic pieces...He had to start over again. If you look, Amelia is looking over at the two boys, she kept saying "My unicorn is allll done!!" Over and over again...I kept laughing as well as Andy, which didn't help in his putting Harry's planet together...Good times.

Happy Easter! ...and as a bonus, some funny out-takes!
Happy Easter everyone! We had a very nice Easter. Grandma & Grandpa, & Mema & Papa came over for an Easter dinner. We had an egg hunt that went over better than I thought it would. I thought Amelia would need a little help finding the eggs, boy was I wrong. Even after the hunt was over she was looking everywhere for them. It was a hit.
Harry & Amelia just before church. Amelia kept her hat and gloves on the whole time. The only reason she has them off in the following pictures is b/c they were soggy from her eating with them. What a girlie girl. Harry was quite dapper himself. They both did remarkably well for how long and crowded church was.
A familiar pose that Andy always seems to get of me when we are getting ready to leave.
Harry, while we were running around getting everything together to leave, was peacefully reading to himself.
...And here are some fun out-takes for everyone :) This is right after we came home from church...these looks pretty much show how everyone felt.
A little girls way of playing with frogs. Harry, instead prefers to have them fly across the room.
This is after the egg hunt. Amelia opened up all of her egg to see what was inside and then was off to try and find more.
Harry on the other hand would open each egg up, and then he would close them back up with the toy still inside. It was a good day.

The coloring of the eggs...
We colored our Easter eggs on Saturday. What a strange day it was. We were supposed to go to the big Easter egg hunt on the bluff in St. Joseph, but b/c of all the bizarre winter weather we received on Friday, that was a no-go. Amelia still is not feeling tip top, so she took a very long nap, and woke up in probably worse shape than she went to sleep. So we went ahead and colored the eggs. Didn't have as many as we would have liked, but it was a fun process.

Amelia was really funny. She was in her delicate mood, and she was doing really funny things. She was guarding her color cups that were in front of her. At first she didn't want any eggs in them, screaming "NO, MY COLORS!". Then once we were able to put eggs in them, she didn't want to take them out. Finally at the end she got the hang of the whole process.
I picked up these eggs to hang from our chandelier. I just thought they were too cute.

The kids playing downstairs on their chalkboard. We have some furniture downstairs (thank you mema & papa), so we have been able to spend more time down there...the kids love it.

Boots!
Mema & Papa just came back from visiting Uncle Jeffie in New Mexico. He is getting married Labor day weekend. The attire for the reception is going to be casual, so Mema & Papa picked up some real cowboy boots for them (as if there was any other type...well they are leather) :). Of course Amelia was excited to have a new pair of boots, and the fact that they were pink...forget about it! But this time around Harry was VERY excited about his boots. Since we went to the fair this past summer and Amelia had boots to wear and he didn't he has wanted a pair. Looks like they are all set for our trek down south in August!

A Touch of Spring...
Ahhh, the first feeling of spring! What a great teaser for the coming weather. We did get a chance to enjoy some of it, although we are taking our turns with the achy flu. Harry fought a fever for about 6 days, I am going on 5 days, and Amelia is a close second to me. I heard Andy this morning, all stuffy, I think he will be following in our steps shortly. On a brighter note....
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Hope all of you get a chance to eat some corned beef & cabbage (yum)!
Andy took this picture. It turned out pretty good. It is kind of a running joke between us with Andy taking pictures of the moon. It all started on our honeymoon. He took probably 25 pictures of the moon over the ocean and all of them looked like a black screen with a speck of white dust on them. He has come a long way in his "moon series". :)

Another familiar position, from spring/summer/fall of last year. Great to see the chairs back outside!
It is amazing how fast these kids are growing up! I was looking through pictures to add and I stopped when I looked at this one. My little baby girl...look at those legs, they are so long! She is a little girl! When did that happen?!
A happier picture of our puppers. He had his bandage changed, and the vet put on a bright yellow one in honor of our favorite Packers..."Go Pack Go"! Hopefully only one more week with the "cone of stink!" He is supposed to be getting his stitches out today.
Last Sunday, when Harry first got sick, Amelia and I went grocery shopping. She found a package with these bracelets in it and said, "Look, look, look!!...I want for Daddy!" I highly doubt she wanted it for daddy...what a stinker! Already knows how to work the system.

Random Pictures around the Lewis House
We were making some yummy key lime bars. If the kids had their way, there wouldn't be any in the baking dish!
Andy took this cute picture of Amelia, sleeping with her beloved Carebears.
Not the best pic, but cute. Harry has been slowly adding more and more to his door of the van. First there was a smiley face, then another, then a star. His latest addition has been his name. Andy made the comment, "Now I know why my dad would get so frustrated with us when we would write on the car! " :) Guess it's time to get a wash.
Again, the two of them with their shovels. They are hard working, I'll give them that! It was really sweet, Amelia would watch what Harry did, and then she would follow. It's neat to see how much she looks up to him and follows him...not Always neat, but most of the time!
Poor Mieszko. He had had surgery on his right ear 2 years ago, and the same problem happened to his left ear. He has to wear that cone, or as Amelia calls it "crown" and bandage for 3 weeks. He is getting around okay. Toma was a bit concerned what was wrong with him. She probably just wanted to make sure it wasn't going to happen to her! The good thing is, it can't happen again.

The things kids do...
Harry has been channeling his engineering side lately. He has been building a lot and "inventing"things. His inventions seem to all be in the "3000 series".
This is the "Super Saver 3000". He called me into the room and said "look mom! I made a super saver 3000, it saves things." As he is showing me how it can lift arm cap off of the sofa, "See it saves things!" :)
Here he is showing is upgrade, the smaller one, his original, Super Saver 3000, next to his upgrade the 5000 series :) Where he comes up with these things?!
We celebrated Aunt Jessica's birthday last weekend. Here Harry is showing Grandpa how to cut the cake.

Ahhh...My kids favorite party position, black olives on their fingers...
What a difference a day makes! The day before almost all the snow was gone, grass showing, pavement was dry. We woke up to this. Harry just loved helping daddy.
They were shoveling like they were getting paid for it. If you can see in the corner of the picture, you can see a blue chair. That's Harry's summer chair, they were getting out all of their summer toys as if it was 80 degrees out. They were excited to be playing outside. This winter it has either been too cold, or they have been sick with colds.
Ahhh...Harry's new LOVE! Tinker toys! Well, these are called Fiddle stix, they are just a little bigger in size. Andy has been wanting to get these for Harry for some time now, but he has been too young. After he was playing so much and building so much with the other plastic toys we had had for him, Andy saw his opportunity. The things that Harry has come up with have been very interesting. His first thing he built was a vacuum cleaner. Yesterday daddy and Harry built the "Cooling Fan 3000, then the upgraded version 3050, which had about 2 more pulley's. It was quite the contraption, he played with that one all day.
When Amelia was napping one day, Harry was playing so nice with his trains, he looked so peaceful on the couch.
High Noon Tea. Amelia yesterday morning set out full tea. We had our fancy hats, of course. (Mine has seen much better days...Looks like I am in the market for a big tea hat now.) This was her first tea party for grown ups, before she was just entertaining her Care Bears.
