Halloween...

Halloween. It was an odd one this year. Because of a big football game here, trick-or-treating was moved to Thursday instead of on Halloween which was Friday. I was not feeling well and neither was Amelia. So we only carved one pumpkin, the one that Harry had gotten on a field trip with his class. The reaction to the insides was not as exciting as the previous years. Instead of the horrified look that they both gave the past two years, this time they were excited about how yucky it looked and felt. Harry drew his own face on his pumpkin. He was so proud. He did a great job.
Harry and Amelia looked a bit like they were making an artistic statement. I put them in all black with their Halloween accessory. Amelia was a butterfly ( I didn't quite know how to pull off making her look like a caterpillar, so a butterfly would do for her). Harry was a dragon. At one point Amelia's wings broke, so she looked like Audrey Hepburn for a bit. Fixed the wing situation, and once again she was a butterfly. I figured with these costumes, they can use them throughout the year while they play...and they sure have. ...I did my bit with kitty cat ears...

The first house. When they left their front door, Amelia looked at me with these HUGE eyes and said "MAMA!! They gave me CANDY!!!" She was so shocked! That went on for the next few houses. Harry was just very excited, running, running, and was concerned if he forgot to say thank you and would run back to the door. :)
Grandma & Grandpa seeing the goodies they brought. Aunt Jessica came by with her brother, his wife and son (he is the cow in the picture). The next morning Amelia said to me, "Aunt Jessica was here last night, and her brother, and his wife, and a little cow!"... I couldn't believe how much she remembered...the cow part was pretty cute!

Halloween night...the actual day. We figured, Mema & Papa couldn't make it the night before and the pumpkins needed to still be carved, so we made a two day party of Halloween.

I told Nina that there were coins in the pumpkin. She gave it her best. :)

Andy took this. This was Amelia's pumpkin. She wanted 4 faces on it. How clever. I had never thought of doing it that way. I thought, for her, how appropriate!

Ahh....the start of the leaves...now begins the month long fight to keep the leaves off the lawn. Here we go!

Your kids could make plastic bags look cute! The action shots in the leaves are great...come back to Cedar and you wouldn't have to deal with those ;) Most of all, Andy, how sweet of you to draw such great pics. I'm sure the kids will treasure those! I really miss you guys.
