Good Bye Spats!

Third try did the trick. Papa helped us free Spats. I have to admit, had some tears in my eye, watching him take flight, circling around and around till he was high above our front tree.
To have the opportunity to watch him through the whole process, felt like such a gift.

Papa tried to get him out on the paper towel he was on. He decided to walk up on Papa's hand instead. Then both Harry and Nina wanted to hold him, or touch him. Then all of a sudden he took flight.
Nina was devastated.
"I wanted to touch him! Crying... "
I looked down at her to comfort her and to explain that he had to fly and this was all part of the process...when, what?! I couldn't believe it!!
"Nina! Look, look!! He's on hour hair next to your face!"
She was so upset she didn't even see that he landed on her face.
Could not have asked for a better ending. (Well, Andy was at work, he really wanted to be home for the release, but the weather was on and off rainy, we had to take the opportunity to let him fly when we could).
Just wanted to hug little Spats for gifting our little bug girl with such a magical moment for her!
