So, I woke up this morning to Andy telling me, "Hun, every one is okay, but...". I bolted up-right. I started to think quickly, I don't see or hear the kids, Mieszko is still asleep at my feet...then he continues..."The pine tree in our side yard fell on my car." Took me a second again to figure things out. The one tree that we had not talked about taking down, of all the many that we have, is the one that fell, go figure. It couldn't have had better aim. Plus, both cars are always in the garage, so the fact that Andy's car was outside and in the spot that it was...this was destined to happen. The storms were fierce last night and we are still under a tornado watch until 7...it being almost 4 o'clock now.
Nina's reaction was, "Wowww...that tree was too tall." (it was about 50ft)
Harry's reaction we were a bit more concerned about. He really loves daddy's car. He is also a bit emotional right now (he always is when he doesn't fell good...allergies). He wiped his eyes and said, "The good thing is...(and he then changed his tune). MAMA!! You're Hosta's are OKAY!!". That's my boy! Then he went on to tell us that we needed to move the tree into the neighbors yard (per the cottonwood tree getting taken down in November and landing in our neighbors yard memory).
What a day. Well. It's not what we expected to have happen, but we did get a nice day to spend as a family, and Papa even got to watch Mulan with all of us when it started to poor again.
The car. Well, we're not sure. For having a tree fall on it, it's in good shape, but inside it is soaked through and through. We'll see. It's at that shop and well know next week what we are faced with. I'll post more pictures in a bit of all the chain saw action. :)
Yep, Andy's car is under there. He called the insurance agent this morning and he said, which one was it, he told him and he said, "Ugh, I was hoping that you weren't going to say the Audi".
