Nature around the Lewis House

Andy was chipping the last bit of tree that was still in our drive way, which apparently had become the home of Mr. Toad, and after he showed him to the kids, he went to continue chipping...and out came out Mrs. Toad. Andy then reunited them in the backyard, safe and sound.

Funny little side note. Andy came in last night and announced, "There, the pile is gone.". I then said to him, "I'd really like it if we could stop using that statement." We had a big laugh about that...the pile in the back from the cotton wood tree, the pile from the branches we had cut down, the pile out front from this tree, the wood pile out back, 10 + 10 yards of dirt pile, 10 yards of mulch pile, leaves leaves leaves...on and on...If you can't laugh, then what's left right?!

One of our favorite sayings that we like to say often, or at least are reminded of often,

"Life isn't about how to survive the storm, but how to dance in the rain."

Amen to that!

Mr. Toad. He was pretty cool, for a toad that is.

Ah, and daddy found a caterpillar that had made the pile his home. I tell ya, these creature don't waste any time with an opportunity.

I figured everyone in sight of her has to share in her caterpillar moment...I thought, I'd overload all of you with a ton of pics too. Your welcome :) You can feel just like you were there.

"Freedom!!"Checking for rollie pollies, worms, earwigs, any bug really except for ants and spiders.

This is the look that he gives when he is about to do something that he knows that he shouldn't...like turning on the water for the 100th time.

So if you look close, Harry not only is getting wet from the sprinkler. Nina took the chance to "get" her brother with water too.Andy took this of a moth on our van. Such a great shot.

Mr. Sun on the back of our house. We were eating out side and heard little chirps. Mama bird made a nest and the babies had hatched. Our sun looks a bit like he's getting sick. :)
(Mr. Sun was one of our finds in Santa Fe when we were down for the wedding)
An egg shell was found just below Mr. Sun. It was pretty and neat with the little hole on top where the birdie broke out.
There. Nature moment over.
