My incredible son got me a ring for my birthday. A rose ring because he had gotten me roses (plants) for the past two mothers days and he thought the ring would be perfect. He picked it out all by himself, Daddy had taken them shopping.
I was/am so proud of the ring. It is huge and loud, couldn't be better. Every morning for almost 2 weeks first thing he would do is look at my hand and ask where the ring was. I'd remind him that I just woke up. So he would then go, retrieve the ring, and put it on me.
Well. With the ring being so large, and with all the germs around, I had to take it off every time I washed my hands or put on anti-bacterial juice. I was really fierce about washing especially before my surgery, not just with all the H1N1.
That being said. I've lost it. I have not had the heart to tell him yet. Me feeling like a shoe has two folds. Losing the ring. Then there is the second. Me losing it. Harry is our little absent minded professor. His technical side is amazing, truly incredible some of the things he can figure out, say or do. But, when it comes to putting things away and loosing things, he needs a whole lot of work. He manages to lose his crayons and scissors at school. His desk is only so big.
So. The fact that I have lost it. It's a big deal. If anyone out there sees one like it, please let me know. The shop he got it from only had one, of course.
Feelin' like a shoe.
*Feeling a little better each day. Seems to be that one step forward then 2-3 days of feeling cruddy. I'm having a difficult time walking that thin line of doing things, easing into more activities, and over-doing it. Our water heater went out, and my dad was so kind and helped us out with that. And, I lost my diamond in my wedding ring. Found it an hour later (I am lucky that right now I don't go very far), but 3 prongs are broken on the ring. So that will need to be repaired. I was so afraid when that happened...not so much for me, but for Andy. Things have been so up in the air, stressful, unpredictable, and overwhelming. My health heading that list, but we have family members that have been very sick, kids sick, and the house falling apart. I was so afraid to tell him that the diamond had fallen out, so finding it was unbelievable!
Hopefully we will get to do our annual family pictures soon. Will be a little more low-key this year, with the kids not being able to jump all over me, but I am sure there will be classic out-takes as usual! Stay tuned. :)
