Worm Kisses

Normally that statement would make a girl squirm. Not Nina.

I handed her an apple yesterday. She came to me, as she often does and pointed out a 'worm kiss' on the apple. That's what she calls the little black specks or spots on apples, cute.

Nina: "Mama, how did the worm kiss the apple way up high on the tree?"
Me: "Good question Nina..."
Nina:"I know, I know!! (with a twinkle in her eye) They stretch and (as she is stretching up herself as far as she can) stretch and stretch their necks up to reach the apple, so they can give it a kiss.

The mental picture she gave me, brought a smile to my face the whole day.

Never thought the little black spots on fruit would ever make me smile so big!

Worm Kisses.

I have to say that I proceeded with caution. I may never eat an apple again with brown spots on it...or should I say, with "worm kisses." Love you guys and miss ya!
