Nina's big weekend

In Nina's world, this past Sunday was a big day for her. She found 3 caterpillars (well, 2 and an inchworm, plus a few worms). She is so adorable with these little crawlers. She had one on her hand and it fell onto her pants. She went pick it up and it was attached to the fabric. She was concerned and said to me, "Mama! How can I hold him with out pulling it apart?!". I thought that was pretty big for her age. She truly cares about all these little creatures.
Truly. We will be shocked if she doesn't do something with insects or biology when she is older. Her love for these have just gotten stronger as the years go on...

(when she finds a caterpillar, she instructs me to... "Take a picture Mama!")

He's new. How she finds these, I have no idea. They really seem to like her. When she gives one to Harry to have crawl on him, she watches over him to make sure that they don't get hurt.

He inched right up to her.
As a parent, it is a wonderful feeling to see your child find something they are 'into'. She truly found this one all on her own with no encouragement or introduction to it by any one but herself. Harry has had many things that he has been interested in, cars, construction, trains, military, building, engineering things, history and some sports. He seems to have many more things that ring his bell, Nina has others, but nothing as strong as her love of bugs.
