Good Bye Spats...

Dear old Spats. He is on his way!
Yesterday he was a 'j' one minute, and working on his chrysalis, halfway done, the next!
Andy had just looked at it and no kidding, 5 minutes later he was half done.
I've said it so many times, but that was truly Spectacular! He would twist, hard for a few seconds and rest, twist, then rest.
His skin had started turning a little green. That's when we knew it was happening. Wish we could have seen the beginning...maybe next time.

(...and as a side informative note...when they are about to go into the chrysalis, they loose their back legs, his spats. :( Sounds worse than it is. They keep their front ones that are pointy, those are the butterfly legs. His back legs were kind of like suction cups. Sure enough, there they were in a clump on the bottom of the container. You wouldn't know what it was unless you knew what you were looking for.)

His "j" was getting tighter.
There he is!

We moved him to the kitchen counter. Too much movement on our dinning room table.
Andy said to me, "If I knew how much entertainment this would be, I would have gone into a ditch & gotten one a long time ago and turned off the cable!" :) Doesn't get better than this though!!

Can't wait to see you little guy!
